Providence, RI: WaterFire Providence announces the details for the full lighting on Saturday, June 22, 2019. The full lighting is sponsored in part by Cox Business. Sunset is at 8:24 pm. The fires will be lit shortly thereafter and burn until midnight.

Take a walking tour with our knowledgeable interns and volunteers to get an inside look into the history, theory of design and management of WaterFire. Tours begin at 4:30 and 5:00 pm; book now by making a reservation waterfire.org/walkingtours. For a donation of $15 registrants will walk the length of the canal with a tour guide and land at the basin just in time for lighting.
The WaterFire Arts Festival Plaza, in partnership with Bryce Studio, is happening again on both Washington Street and Steeple Street from 6:00 - 11:30 pm., this outdoor artisan fair will showcase some of the great artwork created in Rhode Island in mediums such as glass, photography, sculpture, jewelry and more. The WaterFire Arts Festival Plaza will offer visitors the opportunity to support the local arts economy by purchasing work by Rhode Island-based artists.
The WaterFire Music Stage on Steeple Street will feature Hollow Turtle, “they bring a ruckus to a traditional bluegrass style while tying it all together with tightly wound vocal harmonies...” Hollow Turtle is Alfie Purcell, acoustic guitar; Joe Cappelletti, upright bass; Nick Preite, mandolin; and James Cappelletti & Ben Richard on fiddle. Performances will start at 6:30 pm.
Visit the WaterFire Marketplace on Canal Street and help light up Providence. Support WaterFire with a donation or a purchase of locally designed apparel, glassware, and gifts. Pin where you are from on Map Center’s maps and watch glass blowing by Gather Glass.
The Starry, Starry Night Installation will shine brightly in Memorial Park. Join thousands of WaterFire visitors in Memorial Park where the public is encouraged to add their own light to the night. For a small donation to WaterFire, make a wish upon a star or place your very own message and luminaria candle lantern in the park. The park will be aglow with hanging blue stars and a constellation of twinkling luminaria candle lanterns below.

Access Boat donor Mark Scott and representatives from Bryant University, its Graduate, & Physician Assistant Programs will be lighting the wall and the Access Boat will officially receive its name Sandra Jane.

Live Music returns to WaterFire at the Steeple Street Unplugged Stage, Bernard John will be performing a mix of folk and rock in two sets on Steeple Street between 8:30 and 10:30 pm The Trinity Brewhouse beer tent also returns to Steeple Street for this lighting.

Providence, RI: WaterFire Providence announces the 2016 WaterFire season which currently includes nine full lightings and one partial lighting.
As sponsorship develops, WaterFire will announce additional lightings and programming -- watch for updates on the WaterFire Providence website (www.waterfire.org), Facebook page (http://facebook.com/waterfireprovidence) and Twitter account (http://twitter.com/waterfireprov).
“We are really pleased to announce the 2016 WaterFire season which will present many of our most popular events as well as some exciting new surprises,” remarked Barnaby Evans, WaterFire’s creator and executive artistic director.
The WaterFire Arts Festival Plaza will return to Washington Street for most full lightings with local artists presenting and selling their work. Food vendors will be located on Washington, College and Steeple Streets and National Grid will be providing charging stations for the public to use to power up their mobile devices for free throughout the installation again this year. Nursing Placement will return as WaterFire Providence’s official First Aid Station provider. Visitors can pick up a brochure/map in many local hotels or at the event at one of WaterFire Providence’s guest greeter stations or at the WaterFire Store on Canal Street that lists all events and activities throughout the day and evening.
